Remembering Karving Block at Mount Hood in July 2019

Hard to believe it has been 5 years since the four epic days on Mount Hood with legendary Ryan Knapton, wonderful Katie Tsuyuki, superb Giri Watts and the other campers. Organized by Donek Snowboards, it was the most spectacular training event in my 30 years in the industry.

Anticipation with Sky and Hoover when first seeing the glacier on the volcano.

Day 1 on the Palmer Snowfields glacier. There were thousands of California tortoiseshell butterflies heading to the top, just amazing!
Katie being joyful
Yeah, Giri agrees, Palmer Snowfields is a kinda steep slope
Day 2 was cut short by bad weather, but we met a fellow who came to snowboard without gloves or much of a coat.
A favorite picture, the perfect gloves are hard to find

Day 3 keywords
Day 4 was also cut short by weather
Day 5 was another beauty
All the campers went home with a signed Ryan Knapton poster
We all went home with a highlight reel edited by Ryan and used in our video training
